As an Armed Response Officer, you will be a vital part of our Public Safety Response Team. You will patrol designated areas, respond quickly to emergencies, and help maintain a secure environment for residents and businesses.
Key Responsibilities
- Emergency Response: Be the first line of defense during emergencies. Respond promptly and professionally to client calls and critical incidents.
- Patrol and Visibility: Maintain a strong presence at standoff points and during area patrols to deter potential threats and build client confidence.
- Client Interaction: Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns efficiently and professionally.
- Adherence to Standards: Uphold AM Security Services’ disciplinary code and operational standards.
- Property Checks: Regularly inspect business premises to identify and address potential security risks.
- Reporting: Write comprehensive reports detailing incidents, patrols, and client interactions.

- Keep your vehicle neat and tidy at all times.
- Maintain a professional appearance when interacting with clients and the public.
- Possess a high level of situational awareness to identify and mitigate risks.
- Attend all meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices.
Community and Public Relations
This role is more than just security; you will also be an ambassador of safety in the community. You’ll perform public relations duties, assist residents with safety advice, and follow up after incidents to ensure client satisfaction. You will also conduct introduction calls to new clients, helping them understand how AM Security Services can safeguard their properties.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- PSIRA Grade C Certification (Renewed).
- Grade 11 or 12 qualification.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Firearm competency in Handgun, Shotgun, and Carbine Rifle (for Business Purposes).
- Armed Response Certificate and SASSETA/PFTC Statement of Results.
- Proven experience as an Armed Response Officer.
- No criminal record.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must reside in or near Strand, Somerset West, or Stellenbosch.
- Must be prepared for fitness and firearm proficiency assessments.
