Key Responsibilities of Armed Reaction Officers
- Respond immediately to alarms and emergency situations with professionalism.
- Patrol assigned areas to ensure safety and prevent criminal activities.
- Investigate suspicious activities and respond swiftly to incidents.
- Coordinate with control room personnel to manage security responses.
- Maintain a visible armed presence to deter criminal activities.
- Prepare detailed incident reports and document patrol activities.
- Ensure safe and secure handover procedures at all times.
- Apply conflict resolution techniques to manage tense situations without violence.
- Conduct threat assessments and apply appropriate levels of force to protect public safety.
- Maintain peak physical fitness to handle high-pressure and physically demanding situations.
Requirements for Applicants
- Minimum education: Grade 10 or NQF Level 4.
- PSIRA registration (Grade B or higher) with Armed Reaction Certificate.
- Valid SAPS Firearm Competency Certificate for handgun, shotgun, and rifle with business purposes.
- Minimum two years of experience in armed response or law enforcement preferred.
- Previous mining experience is an advantage.
- Clean criminal record.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver’s license with PDP.
- Ability to maintain physical fitness for extended hours and rapid response situations.
