Essential Qualifications and Competency Requirements

  • Matric Certificate (Grade 12)
  • Fire Fighter 1 and 2 Certifications
  • Hazmat Awareness and Operations Certification
  • First Aid Level 3 or Basic Ambulance Assistant (BAA) Certificate
  • A valid C1 Driver’s License
  • Effective Communication Skills in both IsiZulu and English
  • Minimum Two Years’ Experience in a fire and emergency environment
  • Physical Fitness: Must successfully complete a 2.4 km run and pass physical assessment tests
  • No Criminal Record or Pending Charges
  • Computer Proficiency: Competency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pump Operator Course
