Minimum Requirements to Apply

Before submitting your application, ensure you meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • You must be a South African citizen residing in Gauteng Province.
  • You should have one of the following qualifications:
    • Senior Certificate
    • National Senior Certificate (NSC)
    • National Vocational Certificate in Primary Health
    • Currently in Grade 12

Academic Requirements Per Certificate Type

Senior Certificate

  • English HG D or SG C
  • Biology HG D or SG C
  • Mathematics HG D or SG C
  • Minimum M Score: 17

National Senior Certificate

  • English Level 4
  • Life Sciences Level 4
  • Mathematics Level 4 or Maths Literacy Level 5
  • Minimum APS: 27 (Life Orientation counts half)

National Vocational Certificate

  • 50% in:
    • English First Additional Language
    • Maths or Maths Literacy
    • Life Orientation
  • 60% in vocational subjects:
    • SA Health Care System
    • Public Health
    • The Human Body and Mind
    • Community Oriented Primary Care

Note: Current Grade 12 students must meet NSC requirements based on final Grade 11 results.
