Your Role: Leading the Branch to Success

As a Team Leader, your primary responsibility is to manage branch operations, align your team’s performance with regional goals, and ensure the business meets strategic objectives. You’ll do this while upholding Hollywoodbets’ high standards in guest service, compliance, and team management.

Qualifications and Experience You’ll Need

To be eligible for the Team Leader role in Maitland, candidates must bring the following:

Essential:

  • A minimum of 12 months’ experience in the retail, gaming, or betting industry.

Preferred:

  • A valid driver’s license.
  • A Diploma, Degree, or NQF4 Learnership in a relevant field.
  • 1-2 years of leadership experience in a retail or service-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities and Performance Areas

Branch Growth and Strategic Execution

  • Drive daily, weekly, and monthly targets in alignment with branch goals.
  • Engage directly with guests to educate them on products and promotions.
  • Oversee timely updates to betting boards, memos, scratchings, and card changes.
  • Ensure compliance with betting rules, odds, and payout regulations.
  • Personally manage high-value bets with BSC confirmation, when necessary.

Cash Handling and Financial Integrity

  • Implement strict cash management controls to mitigate fraud and minimize losses.
  • Guide team members on FICA compliance and EFT procedures.
  • Submit daily banking schedules and reconcile balances using internal systems.
  • Monitor float distributions and enforce recovery protocols for lost ticket claims.

Accurate and Timely Reporting

  • Disseminate daily newsflashes summarizing branch operations.
  • Manage stock levels and ensure weekly stocktakes are completed.
  • Immediately report stock discrepancies to management and finance teams.

Security Oversight

  • Ensure safe opening and closing procedures with security personnel on-site.
  • Maintain the functionality of surveillance systems and panic buttons.
  • Conduct cashing up behind closed doors under monitored conditions.

Maintaining Hollywoodbets’ Brand Appearance

  • Keep branch facilities clean, neat, and fully functional.
  • Ensure TVs, terminals, and all customer-facing systems operate seamlessly.
  • Promptly report malfunctions or technical issues.

Compliance and Ethical Standards

Hollywoodbets prides itself on strict adherence to legal and company protocols. Your role includes:

  • Ensuring Gambling Board requirements are met.
  • Enforcing the code of ethics and preventing fraudulent behavior.
  • Guaranteeing that FICA officers and licensed managers are on-site during all operating hours.
  • Upholding uniform policies and prohibiting unauthorized betting by staff.
  • Preventing off-duty staff from using the Limited Pay-out Machines (LPMs) or accessing operational areas.

Internal Communication and Coordination

  • Relay operational updates, marketing campaigns, and strategic communication effectively to all team members.
  • Provide timely feedback to Head Office and follow correct communication channels.

People Management and Workforce Planning

  • Create efficient rosters and shift schedules tailored to peak times and special events.
  • Monitor team attendance, punctuality, and behavior in line with company policy.
  • Submit new employee documents to HR without delay.

Creating an Exceptional Guest Experience

  • Deliver outstanding guest service with a warm, helpful, and respectful attitude.
  • Proactively resolve guest concerns to maintain a positive branch reputation.
  • Develop strong connections with regular and VIP guests.
  • Instill a “Service with a Smile” culture across your team.
