Key Responsibilities
As a Security Officer, your main duties will include:
- Patrolling the estate regularly to maintain order and a visible security presence.
- Monitoring and authorizing entry of people and vehicles at all access points.
- Providing excellent customer service while performing access control duties.
- Monitoring CCTV cameras to ensure the safety and security of all residents.
- Investigating suspicious activities or individuals and reporting incidents promptly.
- Responding to alarms, assessing the situation, and taking appropriate action.
- Assisting with general housekeeping duties such as closing doors and windows after hours.
- Recording all incidents and daily activities in the Occurrence Book.
- Submitting accurate reports on surveillance activity and significant events.
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Previous experience in a security environment is essential.
- PSIRA Grade C certification (up to date).
- Minimum education of Grade 10 or higher.
- Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Excellent customer service orientation.
- Basic computer literacy (advantageous).
- Physically fit to handle long hours of standing or walking.
- Clear criminal record is mandatory.
- Candidates must successfully complete recruitment checks such as aptitude tests, interviews, and background verification.
- Must reside in the Pretoria or Centurion area, as this is a self-posting position.
