Polokwane Learnerships 2025 Now Open – Free Skills Training for South African Youth

Are you an unemployed youth living in Polokwane? The City of Polokwane, in partnership with Mahube Training & Development, is offering fully funded learnership programmes for 2025. These 12-month, hands-on training opportunities are designed to empower young people with skills that lead to sustainable careers.

Learnership Opportunities Available in 2025

A total of 75 accredited learnership positions are available across four fields:

Electrical Engineering Learnership – Ref 01

  • Seats: 15
  • NQF Level: 2
  • Minimum Entry: Grade 10 with Mathematics

Water & Wastewater Treatment Learnership – Ref 02

  • Seats: 15
  • NQF Level: 2
  • Minimum Entry: Grade 12

Water & Wastewater Reticulation Learnership – Ref 03

  • Seats: 15
  • NQF Level: 2
  • Minimum Entry: Grade 12

Landscape Maintenance Learnership – Ref 04

  • Seats: 30
  • NQF Level: 3
  • Minimum Entry: Grade 12

Each programme includes both theoretical and practical training, preparing participants for real-world roles in infrastructure, environment, and municipal services.

Who Can Apply?

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Be between 18 and 45 years old
  • Be unemployed and not previously enrolled in a learnership or ARPL
  • Be a resident of Polokwane Municipality
  • Be willing to undergo security vetting

Submit These Documents:

  • A signed cover letter with the reference number and programme
  • A detailed and updated CV
  • A certified copy of your South African ID
  • Certified copies of academic qualifications
  • Proof of residence, stamped by a traditional authority or municipal office
