What is the NQF4 Occupational Health and Safety Learnership?
This 12-month learnership programme is designed to equip eligible candidates with both theoretical and practical training, leading to a nationally accredited NQF Level 4 qualification in Occupational Health and Safety. This qualification opens doors in numerous industries, with a core focus on civil construction safety standards, compliance, and site-based safety management.
You will undergo structured training under the guidance of experienced industry professionals. This includes intensive classroom-based learning followed by on-site practical exposure to real construction projects.

Minimum Requirements to Apply
To ensure eligibility, applicants must meet the following mandatory criteria:
- South African citizenship
- Matric Certificate (Grade 12)
- N6 Certificate in either Mechanical or Civil Engineering
- Proficient in English (spoken, written, and reading)
These are non-negotiable prerequisites to ensure that all selected learners are equipped to succeed in both the academic and practical components of the programme.

Location and Duration of the Safety Learnership
- Base Location: Cape Town
- Theoretical Training Duration: Approximately four months
- Practical Training Duration: Approximately eight months on active construction sites
You must be available in Cape Town for the duration of the programme.
When Does the Safety Learnership Start?
The learnership is set to commence in July 2025. Candidates must be prepared to begin with the theoretical component immediately upon acceptance.
