Life Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and Theatre Qualified Registered Nurse to join the surgical team at Life Eugene Marais Hospital. This role is pivotal in delivering optimal perioperative care and ensuring surgical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
To excel in this role, the successful candidate will focus on five critical areas:
- Financial Management: Precise charging of theatre time, prosthesis, and equipment; active participation in stock control.
- Equipment Oversight: Educating staff on the correct utilization of specialized theatre instrumentation and technology.
- Quality Patient Care: Managing pre-operative assessments and post-operative visits to ensure patient comfort and safety.
- Team Leadership: Monitoring staff competence, supervising scopes of practice, and managing theatre hours.
- SHEQ Compliance: Strict adherence to ISO requirements, infection control, and medical waste disposal.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Grade 12 National Senior Certificate.
- Professional: General Nursing Degree/Diploma and a specialized Operating Theatre Qualification.
- Licensing: Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
- Skills: Computer proficiency and an understanding of the private healthcare sector are highly advantageous.
