Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric / NQF Level 4
- Must be medically fit and able to perform physical labor
- Reliable with a clean criminal record
- Willing to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays
- Must have own reliable transport to and from work
- Ability to handle heavy cleaning equipment and machinery
- Physically capable of bending, walking, lifting, pushing, and pulling during work hours
- Familiar with cleaning chemicals and proper storage/disposal methods
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Strong organizational abilities and self-motivation
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions from supervisors
Key Duties and Responsibilities
As a General Worker – Cleaner, your responsibilities will include:
- Sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping floors
- Performing daily office cleaning, including emptying trash, servicing restrooms, and disinfecting surfaces
- Ensuring outside walkways are clean and free of debris
- Reporting any necessary repairs to building management
- Assisting office staff with making tea when needed
- Conducting general housekeeping and cleaning throughout the premises
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment
- Following all health and safety protocols
