The Department of Employment and Labour is now recruiting for ten (10) Client Service Officer positions under the Inspection and Enforcement Services Division. This is a fantastic opportunity to enter public service and play a key role in supporting South African labour compliance and employment equity.

This position is ideal for individuals with a passion for employment legislation, public administration, and front-line client service.

  2. eMaxesibeni Labour Centre – Ref: HR4/4/1/02
  3. Fort Beaufort Labour Centre – Ref: HR4/4/1/03
  4. Gqeberha Labour Centre – Ref: HR4/4/1/04
  5. Graaf-Reinet Labour Centre – Ref: HR4/4/1/05
  6. Kariega Labour Centre – Ref: HR4/4/1/06
  7. Komani Labour Centre – Ref: HR4/4/1/07
  8. Mdantsane Labour Centre – Ref: HR4/4/1/08
  9. Mthatha Labour Centre – Ref: HR4/4/1/09
  10. Nqanqarhu Labour Centre – Ref: HR4/4/1/10

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for these posts, applicants must meet the following:

  • Grade 12 / Matric certificate (compulsory)
  • Knowledge of:
    • Labour legislation (BCEA, LRA, UIA, COIDA)
    • Public Service Act and Regulations
    • Private Employment Agency regulations and ILO conventions
    • Departmental policies and Batho Pele Principles
  • Skills:
    • Interpersonal and communication skills
    • Telephone etiquette
    • Problem-solving and interviewing techniques
    • Computer literacy
    • Ability to interpret legislation\

Key Duties

Successful candidates will be responsible for:

  • Providing front-line service at the Labour Centre Help Desk
  • Delivering employment services to walk-in clients
  • Processing and managing labour complaints
  • Handling Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) and COIDA applications
  • Assisting employers with registration documentation
