About the Millwright Apprenticeship
This program is designed to equip apprentices with technical expertise and practical skills in mechanical maintenance, repairs, and installations. You will work under experienced mentors, gaining exposure to mechanical systems, tools, and processes. The goal is to prepare you to perform maintenance tasks safely, effectively, and independently while contributing to smooth plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
As a Millwright Apprentice, you will:
- Perform non-specialized maintenance within your unit of responsibility.
- Assist with plant repairs to ensure production runs smoothly.
- Conduct fault finding to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
- Participate in breakdown, preventative, and predictive maintenance.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce breakdowns.
- Follow Engineering and SHE policies to maintain compliance.
- Take part in WCM activities and strategic engineering plans.
- Use Kaizen problem-solving tools like Fishbone and 5 Why analysis.
- Maintain company safety and 5S standards at all times.
- Coach and develop the skills of other staff using OPLs and SOPs.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this apprenticeship, you must meet the following criteria:
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science.
- N3–N6 with relevant trade subjects.
- EE preference – females are encouraged to apply.
- Must be between 18 and 35 years of age.
