Minimum Requirements to Apply
To qualify for the programme, you must meet the following:
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate (essential)
- Willingness to work retail and flexi hours
- Basic computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Advantageous:
- Previous experience in the beauty or cosmetics sector
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Stock Control Excellence
Efficient stock management is vital in retail. Learn how to:
- Monitor and ensure that products are not expired or damaged
- Restock and maintain full product displays on shelves
- Participate in stock takes and assist with loading/unloading inventory
- Organize and maintain a neat storeroom
- Follow Dis-Chem’s strict stock rotation and control procedures
- Report issues such as low stock, damaged goods, or expired products immediately
2. Merchandising & Promotions
As a cosmetics learner, you’ll play a vital role in visual appeal:
- Maintain professional, clean, and attractive storefront displays
- Arrange product shelves using correct layout and facing standards
- Demonstrate product usage through makeovers or live demonstrations
- Correctly label and price all products
- Work toward meeting brand-specific sales targets
- Participate in in-store promotions, demos, and spray activities
3. Top-Tier Customer Service
Customer satisfaction drives repeat business. You’ll be trained to:
- Deliver friendly, helpful, and professional service
- Assist customers with product advice without pressuring them
- Handle customer stock queries and payment processing at POS
- Uphold the store’s standard of honesty, reliability, and integrity
