Apprenticeship Opportunities Available
Komatsu is offering the following apprenticeship positions:
- Apprentice Armature Winder (2 positions)
- Apprentice Millwright (3 positions)
- Apprentice Welder (2 positions)
- Apprentice Boilermaker
- Apprentice Electrician (3 positions)
- Apprentice Fitter (4 positions)
- Apprentice Turner (2 positions)
Programme Overview
This apprenticeship programme runs over 4 years and 6 months, combining classroom learning with on-the-job training across multiple departments:
- New Equipment
- Used Equipment
- Field Service
- Remanufacturing Division
Trainees will attend external training providers for Phase 1 and 2 theoretical education, then rotate through key operational units to build technical skills. Upon successful completion, apprentices will be qualified artisans, ready for employment in the mining or industrial sectors.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet one of the following educational criteria:
Option 1: N3 Certificate
- Four subjects, including relevant trade theory
- Minimum D / Level 4 in Mathematics and Physical Science
Option 2: NC(V) Level 4
- Minimum D / Level 4 in Mathematics
- Related subject in Engineering and Related Design or Electrical Infrastructure Construction
Option 3: S1 Qualification
- Includes Mathematics and Physical Science
- Minimum D / Level 4 in both
All candidates must be South African citizens and willing to commit to full-time training in Germiston.
